A word from our winemaker, Mark Davidson, owner of Tamburlaine Wines, Hunter Valley, Australia:

              alt

                                       Mark Davidson ---- wine maker

"The free draining granite soils of Treaty Port, mountainous terrain and maritime climate with cool, lower humidity afternoon conditions in Summer/Autumn, are proving very suitable for quality winegrowing. There is an interesting cross-section of traditional European "noblesse" varieties, with some other experimental ones, planted at Treaty Port. Both quality red grape varieties and some white varieties have been selected, some in line with other plantings in the region, and others that are newer to Shandong viticulture. As the vines become more established they will begin to show their real qualities, but first signs are that the best seasons will produce some strongly flavoured, well balanced, quality wines.

Care in the vineyard is matched by a state of the art winery, set up to preserve maximum fruit flavour during the winemaking process, equal to the standards being set by the most advanced winemaking countries in the world"
