Standing in a quiet corner of a sleepy Shandong village, Treaty Port’s newly-restored farmhouse can be the base for a relaxing break in the Chinese countryside.


While creating a comfortable guesthouse, with ensuite bathrooms and broadband access, we took care to leave the farm’s rustic spirit intact. Exposed beams, authentic tiling and a sun-drenched courtyard decorated with period features are all testament to the site's working past (it was a peanut oil factory and village hall).


After a long day taking in the sights and scents of the surrounding orchards, what could be better than having a banquet of locally-sourced dishes two steps from your room? The farmhouse’s kitchen uses local ingredients to give guests a tour of Shandong’s varied cuisine, all accompanied by selections from our extensive wine list.
