Penglai Pavilion

Penglai Pavilion is one of China’s most popular destinations and was attracting crowds long before the concept of tourism had even been invented. Its foundations were laid in 1061, while Shandong was under the control of the Northern Song dynasty. Over the next thousand years the pavilion was the subject of many Chinese legends, with some referring to it as the ‘Home of the Gods’ and others marking it as the port of choice for the 8 Immortals’ trips abroad.

A subject which everyone can agree on is the quality of views and architecture which the pavilion can offer its visitors. Penglai pavilion is more than a building; it is a direct window in the region’s popular culture.
